My Overly Interest in Pinterest.

Why is it that every time I walk into Hobby Lobby I usually walk out with nothing? I know all you savvy crafty people out there reading this just gasped with shock but for some reason my ideas and dreams of making/doing things get cut short when I walk into that store. I think its because I have SO much that I want to do and no house to put all these crafty creations in.

I also blame all this on pinterest.com.

Before my bestie, Amy, introduced me to this- I only had a few projects here and there that I kept in the back of my mind and now I have over 40 and a website that keeps track of ALL of them for me AND organizes everything by whatever categorie I want. Awesome.

Have you been crafty with a project you saw on Pinterest?? I would love to hear about it!

Also- I want to give y'all a house update!! Tyler went by today and snapped this photo of the side of the house! Hopefully with the next update I will have better photos but until then- This will do!

As you can see, they have put up the roof AND the sides!! Those workers get down to business! WOOP WOOP! :)

Miss Arkansas 2011

This past week/weekend was the Miss Arkansas pageant! If you know me- you know my love for this particular weekend. I was blessed to be able to compete in this pageant as Miss Southwest Arkansas and Miss Ouachita Baptist University. Last year I achieved my ultimate goal and made top ten as Miss OBU! I have met some amazing girls through this program and believe in the system 110%. It has shaped and molded me into the women that I am today. I blogged durning my week there- and you can click here to see those posts!

This year competition was thick!! All of the girls were stunning and I have no idea how the judges even began to narrow everything down to just ten girls! Ouachita swept the top ten with 3 girls from our university being represented: Bethany Whitfield, Lauren English and Kristen Glover. On Saturday night, after one long pageant, Kristen Glover was finally crowned Miss Arkansas 2011! What makes this so special is the fact that she was representing Ouachita Baptist University when she won! I had the privilege to crown her in at the beginning of this year and here is a picture of that moment! :)

 I wish Kristen nothing but the best this next year as she represents the great state of Arkansas! I know she will do a great job! Be sure to cheer her on when watching Miss America this year!! Click here to watch her interview on Today's THV Channel 11!

{Me and Amy on Saturday night! Amy sang the National Anthem every night and KILLED IT! I was so proud to call her my best friend!}

{An update on the progress of our house! The framing is up! Next step: ROOF! YAY!}

Let the countdown begin because I have..

                                                         {get pumped. get excited.}

Oh yeahhh I have a blog. Oops

Wow so much has gone on since I last blogged! So let me recap for ya! Okay first off- my best friend since childhood, Carly Henderson, got married to a wonderful man named Eric Beckham on June 25th! I had the privilege of being the maid of honor and it was a beautiful wedding! I am so happy for her and couldn't have picked a better man for her to spend the rest of her life with! Isnt she just the perfect bride?!

So many of you might or might not know that me and Tyler are building a home in McKinney! We are super excited and have been taking pictures of the progress as it goes along bc eventually I would love to make a scrapbook of "our first home". I have never attempted at scrap booking so I figured id start small!

Yesterday we were beyond excited to see that they had poured our foundation! I have never before been so pumped to see a slab of concrete!! Here are a few pictures of the process so far!

{On the day we signed our papers and the lot was officially sold!}

{We had so much fun picking out everything!}

{First day that they broke ground!!}

{The day they put the plumbing in!}

{And finally yesterday they poured the foundation! YAY! Look at that pretty drive up!}

On Friday they are suppose to have the framing done and next week the roof goes up! Me and Ty feel extremely blessed that we are able to build our first home! God has been good!!

Save the Dates

I haven't blogged in awhile but I wanted to share with everybody the save the dates I designed for not only myself, but for my friend Abbie Dunham! Save the Dates have become such a necessity in the wedding planning process and finding the perfect one to fit your style can sometimes be a difficult task.  But no fear- that's why Graphic Designers are on this Earth- to make situations like this easier on YOU! When Abbie asked me to design her save the date for her- I was so excited! They are having a vintage/rustic themed wedding and wanted the Save the Dates to match the theme and colors.

{I love the poem she wrote for the back! It added such a neat and personal touch to the card!}

Tyler and I took our engagement photos down at his families ranch in Morgan, TX so I wanted my Save the Dates to have a "ranch feel" to them. The deep orange and brown colors along with the bold strong looking font pulled that look off!

If you or someone you know is interested in having a Save the Date designed for their big day email me at bethanylynnedesigns@gmail.com!

Logos, Invitations, Posters..OH MY!

Since launching my on the side business- Bethany Lynne Designs- I have had the honor to work on some logos/invitations/save the dates for various people! I wanted to share with my blogging buddies some of the things ive been working on!

{Two Chicks Pix Photography & Design}
{Buttercup Bakers}

Go check out Ashley George's photography website! :)

As many of you know, my best friend Carly is getting married June 25th to a wonderful man named Eric Beckham!! Since I am her maid of honor, I was able to throw her a fun bachelorette/lingerie shower party AND design the invites for it! :) Designing invitations is probably one of my favorite things to do/research ideas on! I love how invitations make the first impression with any event!

I also LOVE designing quote posters. This quote was inspired by something that Steven Tyler said on American Idol. Right when he said it I knew I had to make a quote design using the phrase! This poster would be perfect in any EEE dorm room if I do say so myself ;)

So thats just a few of the designs that have been keeping me busy lately! I cant wait to show off some other save the dates/invitation designs ive done!!

If you are interested in using for my your design needs, just email me at bethanylynnedesigns@gmail.com and we can get the ball rolling!

 Have a wonderful Thursday friends :)

Busy Bee.

Man oh man am I slow moving today. I woke up right at 7 after hitting the snooze button several times. I feel like everyday I get closer to Friday- the harder it is to get my toosh out of bed? Am I the only one who feels that way?? I have been one busy bee and a bag blogger at that- but no fear ladies and gentleman because I am back in business! This past weekend I made a special trip up to College Station, TX to watch my fiancée walk across that pretty A&M stage and get his diploma!

{so proud of his diploma! Yay for not having a blue dot!}

{under the large ring!}

{one of my favorite pictures of Tyler that day!}

 I am so proud of him for working so hard this past year and juggling school, friends, Dude Perfect and me time. It is crazy to me that over 1,000 kids graduated just in that one ceremony AND its crazy to me that all of them will be looking for jobs. Welcome to the real world class of 2011, set your early alarms now. After the long ceremony we packed everything up and headed to where else??...The Ranch! The newest addition to this blissful place is the cabin on top of Rocky Top Hill. Tyler jokes that this cabin is our plan B for the honeymoon if plan A doesn't work out. Hmmmmm....

{cabin on top of Rocky Top!}

I still cant believe that I graduated from college over a year ago. It feels like just yesterday I was walking across that small stage in front of Ouachita's Cone Bottoms building saying "see ya later" (never goodbyes) to all my besties and packing up my modest little apartment.

These past couple of weeks I have busy with work, wedding planning and balancing my free lance business! Now that Tyler is finally home from school- all the wedding planning and can really take off! YAY!

{{Are you sure its not October yet?!}}

He will win in the end.

Heard Beth Moore say this during our last session of our study on Revelation last night and I can stop reading it this morning! I hope it ministers to somebody's heart today like it has mine.

Pslam 138.

"He will perfect all things that will concern you. Every single thing that you have been through will receive purpose. Everything will turn out, will make sense, will have redemption, will be perfected. You have not been through the one thing that He can not redeem." -Beth Moore

Our God will win in the end.  It doesn't get much better then that people.

The official launch of Bethany Lynne Designs!

Well I have decided to slowly start marketing my freelance business. I have been doing a handful of logos, business cards and invitations for various people and I thought it was time to actually have a name and a "brand" to attach to my work. So here it is...."Bethany Lynne Designs." :) I'm not really creative with coming up with names so I thought this would work for now! I am still in the process of getting together my Etsy store so be on the look out for that as well!

If you are interested in having something designed please contact me at briscoebethany@gmail.com to talk details! To check out my portfolio go here!

Engagement Pictures!! YAY!

Well as some of you know, Tyler and I took our engagement pictures this past weekend at his ranch in Morgan, TX with the talented David Edmonson! By the next day I had a handful of teaser pictures in my email inbox! To say I was excited was an understatement! Here are a few from the bunch he sent us! :)

Me and Tyler had a blast taking these! His ranch is such a special place to both of us that we couldn't think of better location to capture these memories! :)

Things that keep you sane.

Well I went two days….and gave in. As I sit and type this to you, im also sucking down the best white chocolate mocha I've ever had. I'm just not cut out for crappy coffee. I can't do it. I tried to go a whole week without going to Starbucks, and this morning- I failed miserably.

Brandon, my brother, went on the black coffee challenge for a week and now he wont drink anything BUT black coffee. I really don’t get how people do it. What can I say...I am a slave to Starbucks.

Sometimes you run across pictures that just simply make you laugh out loud. And a lot of days, pictures like these are the only thing keeping me sane. Here are three that i've come across recently!

Enjoy! I hope you get a good laugh out of them.

{Are people really reading this to kids?!}

{Somebody had way too much time...}

{One of my favorite childhood places to play for sure}

What are things that keep YOU sane throughout your day???
